Refire

Refire is a two-year research project (2012-2013), co-funded by the European Commission, Directorate-General Home Affairs in the framework of the call “CIPS Action Grants 2010”.

The project aims to provide indoor location and communication services for emergencies of any kind. A reference implementation in the project based on RFId technology has been developed for the localization of first responders inside buildings, who transmit their position to the remote control center through cellular systems (e.g. GSM, UMTS-HSPA, UMTS-LTE) or available networks and communication devices.
