Professor Alessandro Neri of University Roma Tre – president of Radiolabs has present the 5G trial program underway in the test site of l’Aquila – one of the five cities in Italy where 5G has been deployed to foster new applications. This talk – organized by Hitachi Rail STS as part of the – X2Rail’s Technology Watch – has given an opportunity to show to the X2Rail-3 WP-3 team the 5G plan of the EMERGE initiative managed by Radiolabs for the connected and autonomous cars (EMERGE link).The objective of X2Rail is to define the specifications and prototype-developments of an Adaptable Communication System (ACS) for the future railways ERTMS and mass transit CBTC control systems. .In his talk, prof. Neri outlined the roadmap of the 5G, underlining the synergy between the rail and automotive applications.
