On May 2nd 2017 Andrea Coluccia of Radiolabs attended the Pacific ION Conference ( https://www.ion.org/pnt/) presented the paper “High Integrity Multiconstellation Positioning in ERTMS on SATELLITE – Enabling Application Validation” in collaboration with Ansaldo STS and Sogei (presentation). This paper discloses for the first time the recent on-fiel d test results carried out by Radiolabs within the ERSAT EAV project (http://www.ersat-eav.eu/) to verify the suitability of GNSS with public augmentation networks to generate Virtual Balises as an alternative/complement means to the physical balises prescribed by the ERTMS. Field tests with early GALILEO service have confirmed the benefits of a multi-constellation architecture to satisfy the high integrity requirements of train positioning.
